This week was spent getting ready for our trip to India. Rather than try to complete a full day of school and then try and get ready for our trip, we just shifted to an easy school day. Makenzie worked on her math and her writing. Now she is at a good stopping point. We spent our time hanging out and playing instead!
On Tuesday, we went to the library and read books about crocodiles. Then we played a "Crocodile and Monkeys" game. It's like "Sharks and Minnows"...only without the pool.
On Wednesday, we took Spencer to the airport super-duper early. (He had to go to Mexico City and Houston, TX for meetings on Thursday and Friday.) Then the kids and I went to the Happy Cow Creamery and took a farm tour. It was chilly and we hadn't dressed warm enough to be comfortable, but we had a GREAT TIME...and learned so much!!! Fun, fun, fun!
Makenzie and Hailey have been asking to learn to crochet for awhile. This week, I took the time to start to teach them. Makenzie is VERY proud of her first creation!
We made Glitter Bottles. It was super easy and lots of fun. Just need a plastic bottle (one large drink size or two regular size)...one bottle of glitter-glue...and one tube of ultra-fine glitter. And of course...super-glue to attach the lid permanently!!! Combine...and Viola! Fun, fun, fun!!!
This is how we eat breakfast in our house...always with books...always reading...
We played around with hairstyles a lot this week. I LOVE doing the girls' hair, but usually, they just want their hair down. This week...they wanted it styled and such. I was a happy mommy!
While he was in Mexico City, Spencer took the time to go to the temple. The church also has a missionary training center on the grounds, so there were missionaries everywhere.
He had is rep order his food...so he ended up with...
Bone Marrow Taco
and
Cactus Taco!
We picked him up at the Charlotte Airport at 8:30 pm Friday night. Then we went to dinner and he gave out presents. Isaiah and Riley got monkeys. Hailey got a butterfly and Makenzie got an apple made from marble.
On Saturday, we drove to Atlanta to go to the LDS Distribution Center. We were hoping to be able to walk around the temple grounds, but it was cold and rainy...so we just took pictures from the car and headed home!
Instead of sucking his thumb, he decided to suck his big toe!
All this playing, and travel, and crafts, and reading, and eating is just TOO MUCH for a little girl!!!
Well...that's a week in our life!
The next posts will be from India!!!! YIKES!

Toe sucking is TOO funny!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that Spencer got to go to the Temple in Mexico City!
So when you went to the Distribution Center did you get to meet a lady that worked there named Wendy? I did and I love her.
By the way, I hope you have a SUPER DUPER fun time in India!!
