The Blustery Day

Monday was BEAUTIFUL.  So of course the kids wanted to swim.  And of course we let them.  They only lasted about 5 minutes!

Wednesday, we weren't accomplashing a whole lot, and the weather was nice, so we headed out to the beach.  By the time I got 4 little ones packed up and we made it to the beach, the weather had cooled down and the wind had picked up.  We still wanted to head out, so we took a stroll along the beach.

Hailey made me a mud-pie.  Makenzie flew the kite.  Isaiah chased the seagulls.  And Riley hung out with me.

We found lots of sand dollars and some really neat shells.  Overall, it was a wonderful outing.

Satuday, the girls helped us clean the house!  We now have clean windows, mirrors, and bathrooms.  Ahh...life is good!

2012 Bridge Run

Our entire family participated in the 10th Annual Bridge Run.  Spencer had Isaiah in the backpack and I had Riley in the Bjorn.  Makenzie walked the ENTIRE bridge herself.  I helped Hailey up the bridge and she was able to run down herself.

And then...I had trouble walking for the next 2 days!!!

At the top of the bridge, they had a band playing and a port-a-potty!!!  Hailey stopped to try it out on the way back.

Makenzie asked the band to play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".  She really tired and was starting to loose her morale.  The band sang the song and it TOTALLY picked up her spirits.  It was pretty cool to be standing at the top, hearing "up above the world so high", and to watch how excited and special Makenzie felt to hear the band sing her song!

After the race, the kids stretched.  Everyone got a kick out of Isaiah following along.

Then, the kids that couldn't walk another step...suddenly had the energy to dance!!!

It was TOTALLY worth it and we are all looking forward to next year's run.

Quick Trip to Spartanburg, SC

Spencer had to go to Xytel to finish up some details for his trip to Thailand.  So...we got a free trip to visit our friends in Spartanburg.

We drove up Thursday night (arrived at 1am).  Then dropped Spencer at work at 8am and headed to the Thomas' house.  The kids played Dance on the Wii.  Isaiah LOVED it.

Then we headed to the library for while the Thomas kids had a dentist appointment.  I must say, I think we got the better end of that deal!!!

Then back for the afternoon.  The girls played and jumped on the trampoline.

Isaiah got Kelly to do the "Donald Duck thing".  Isaiah LOVES Kelly's silly duck thing.  Everytime Isaiah sees him, the first thing he does is try to get Kelly to make his funny sound.  And I finally got around to gettting it on video!

Makenzie's 7th Birthday

I'm not sure how it happened, but my little girl turned SEVEN!!!  7???  Yikes.

She wanted a mermaid birthday party...and a 3-layer birthday cake.

We made the decorations and painted our windows to turn a dining room into the sea.

The fairie's stole the mermaid's treasure, so the party guests went on a scavenger hunt to get it back.

Makenzie got her 3-layer birthday cake...and plenty of cool presents.

For her birthday dinner, she asked "To go to the restuarant where they cook infront of you."  (AKA...Japanese steak-house).

It was a WONDERFUL day.  And only took a week to recover from!

Hailey's 1st Quilt

Hailey has started a quilt for Riley.  It is very slow moving, but it's hers.

She has chosen her fabric, ironed it, and cut 4 out of the 6 pieces.

Random Family Pictures

Makenzie took some random family photos.  She also got a great video of Riley talking.  There are also just a bunch of random pictures of the kiddies from the last 2 weeks.
