Week 10...Migraines Hurt, but Life Goes On

This was just a regular ole' week.  No special events or meetings or such.  I didn't think we'd have many pictures to share, but apparently we do!

Spencer
Spencer was called to be the Young Men's President at church today.  Currently, there are only 2 youth in the program, but by the end of June they'll have 5!

On Thursday, Spencer dropped 13 pounds in one day (for the final Team Lean weigh-in!).  And it was back by Friday!!!!  Mostly just water, water, and more water!

On Saturday (first one with no plans for awhile), Spencer took Makenzie to the gun range and went shooting.  They had a great time.

(She's shooting an AR-15 with 22LR rounds.)

Rebecca
On Tuesday, at library story time, I was hit with a major migraine.  Came out of the blue and ran me over like a truck!!!!  Luckily, a good friend was at the library and watched the kids for awhile.  Somehow, I made it home and then Spencer took a 1/2 day and watched the kids.  I just took care of myself.  Because of that, I was better the next day.  Tired and sore, but functional.

On Thursday, I followed Spencer's insanity and dropped about 4 pounds of water weight!  Then I spent Friday at the Greenville Zoo and got a little sun-burnt.  Not a good combination!  Oops.  But, I'm drinking lots of water and feel good right now.

On Friday, our church had a Ladies' Night Out at Fatz Cafe.  It was so nice to just relax and visit with a bunch of friends.  I totally needed a night like that...filled with laughter and fellowship!!!  Thank you!!!

On Saturday, Hailey came with me to go grocery shopping.  On the way, we stopped by Toys R Us and got a new Lego set.  It was lots of fun assembling it together!

Makenzie
Makenzie is simply beautiful.  She got lots of new outfits from Grams for her birthday and LOVES wearing them.  I was simply struck at how sophisticated she looked this week!

During math this week, she started using multiplication all by herself!  A word problem would say something like "A man built a house with one door that cost $200 and four windows that cost $50.  How much money did the house cost?"

Then Makenzie would write down:
4 x 50 + 200 = 600

Pretty cool, huh???

Hailey
Oh my.  Hailey is a doll.  She has found the video feature on the phone and now likes to document her successes.

She is continuing to progress in math and reading.  She's now starting to sound out simple words and just giggles when she gets it.  This is so much fun to watch!

Isaiah
He is a trip and a half!  He has such an amazing imagination.  I just can't wait until his language catches up and we can hear what's going on inside his head!

He is crazy observant.  It took the birds about a week to find our homemade bird feeders, and Isaiah was the first one to see them!

He is often a huge helper around the house (which balances with the destruction he causes!)  I'm not sure what his plan was here, though.

And...if you are waiting to get dressed on Sunday and playing "Angry Birds"...why not sit in a tray???

(He's signing "pig".)

Riley
Oh my.  She's only 15 months and already entered the "Terrible Twos"!!!  She is text book case.  She knows enough to know what she wants, but doesn't have enough words to tell us.  And gets ANGRY when the world doesn't revolve around her!  Good thing she's so cute!!!

On Tuesday, Spencer took the kids outside while I suffered in the dark.  Riley chose the outfit!

She and Isaiah get into so much mischief!!!  Shhh...they are hiding and we can't find them...

The weather this weekend was simply BEAUTIFUL!!!  We spent lots of time chilling out on the porch.

Riley has learned the way straight to Grandpa's heart...

On Sunday, Riley decided she wanted to dress herself.  She took great care to get her feet completely covered.  Unfortunately, chocolate cake is only allowed on Easter.  I know...can you believe it????!!!

And finally, out of all our children, Riley has the best dance moves.  She LOVES to dance.  Super cute!!!

Special School Stuff
On Wednesday, we stopped by Hatcher Gardens to go on a Nature Scavenger Hunt.  The weather was beautiful and the kids had so much fun.  I loved watching the kids discovering things.  They all see so much, but find interest in such different things.  We live in such a wonderful world!

Super-Duper Family Fun
On Friday, the Spartanburg Schools had the day off.  So, a bunch of families from church went to the Greenville Zoo.  The weather was beautiful.  Lot of fun and visits!

Sunday Treat
A wonderful friend of ours gave us a box of girl scout cookies.  They didn't make it home from church!!!

Well...that's a week in our life!!!
